Čiogjalas Namkhai Norbu (Chögyal Namkhai Norbu) gimė Derghėje, Rytų Tibete, 1938 m. Vaikystėje buvo atpažintas kaip didžio dzogčeno mokytojo Adzomo Drugpos (1842–1924) reinkarnacija. Vėliau XVI Karmapa pripažino jį esant Šabrungo Ngavango Namgjėlo (1594–1651), pirmojo Butano dharmaradžos, reinkarnacija.
Dzogčeno mokymai – tai ne filosofija, ne religinė doktrina ir ne kultūros tradicija. Suprasti juos reiškia atrasti savo tikrąją prigimtį, visiškai netemdomą proto kuriamų klastočių ir saviapgaulės. Pats tibetiečių terminas dzogčenas, arba „didysis tobulumas“, kalba apie kiekvienos būtybės tikrąją, pirmapradę būseną...
Dzogčeno bendruomenė yra didelė grupė žmonių, kuriuos sieja domėjimasis dzogčeno mokymais, kurie seka mokytoju, iš tikrųjų atskleidusiu dzogčeno būseną, kurie pagal išgales studijuoja ir praktikuoja tantras, lungus bei upadešas ir kurie stengiasi sudaryti sąlygas, būtinas šiai veiklai.
Garab Dorje’s Three Principles of the Dzogchen Teaching
Garab Dorje, before he dissolved his body into the essence of elements and entered into the realization of the Body of Light, he left the summary of his teachings known as his Three Principles:
(1) Direct Introduction: the primordial state is transmited straight away by the master to the disciple. The master always remains in the primordial state, and the presence of the state is thus communicated to the disciple in whatever situation or activity they may share.
(2) Not To Remain in Doubt: through the repeated experience of the primordial state in contemplation, the disciple no longer has any doubts about what his or her true condition is.
(3) To Continue In the State: the disciple endeavors to continue at all times in the state of non-dual contemplation, the primordial state, until every thought or experienc spontaneously self-liberates in the very instant that it arises, without any effort being necessary, and nothing any longer hides the true condition of the individual (which is obscured, in samsara, by dualistic vision). One contin-ues right up to Total Realization.
